Summary

Amends the:

A New Tax System (Family Assistance) Act 1999
to: ensure that the language, literacy and numeracy supplement is not tax free; and replace the definition of “receiving”;
A New Tax System (Family Assistance) (Administration) Act 1999
and
Social Security (Administration) Act 1999
to enable protected information to be obtained and used for the Family Homelessness Prevention and Early Intervention Pilot;
Social Security Act 1991
and
Social Security (Administration) Act 1999
to provide for Parenting Payment Participating Agreements which will require people receiving parenting payments to undertake certain activities; and
Social Security Act 1991
to: close access for new applicants to mature age allowance and partner allowance; introduce changes in relation to administrative penalties; and introduce more flexible participation requirements for mature age newstart recipients.
